Wedding

Continued from the previous "Wedding Reception" post......
Just back from Singapore, attended my cousin's wedding reception over there. Was really impressed by the atmosphere there, it's a big surprise for me that Singapore still has this kind of restaurants surrounded by green green plantations. My future home gonna be like this man :)

But there is one thing that left me pondering is..having wedding reception is to please others or the couple themselves? it's because most of the time, the couple or the family will quarrel just becauze one party doesnt like this way and another party doesnt like that way..and see them getting paler and paler as time goes by..WHAT FOR??
But when I ask my another cousin for the significance of having wedding reception..her response was :" you think your wife is willing to get married with you without having any wedding dinner or reception ? it's like " cannot see the light ( translate into canton or mandarin), erm..if you dont want to have wedding reception, you could think of putting an advert in the newspaper telling everyone that you are married..."
Then I replied " I could just get few tables at a decent restaurant inviting close relatives and frens to enjoy"....she said :" as you are writing down the names whom you wish to invite...the names tend to increase and increase...like everyone is your fren" ...it's true also :)
For me, during wedding dinner, it's like an occasion to please both families, old man or woman singing karaoke on the stage...but now some even invite live band to avoid ears getting burst...hahahaha..those kaki botol "yum sing" everywhere ..fall down on the floor, cakap benda yang bukan-bukan..the worst thing I saw was..the guests even gamble at one corner even before the dinner starts...after 3 hours of dinner..everyone gone...left both families to settle the bill...and balik tidur..that's the END of the dinner.
I dont really see any significance of having a wedding dinner...or am I something wrong????
Just to share my point of view on wedding reception...more to come....
