Final Quarter of 2011

Wow ! this blog still survives ! hahahaha..guess everyone is busy with job or dating....or..bla bla bla.

Well, still wondering who is the anonymous who posted the entry..which is so emo

The final quater of 2011 seems to be challenging and interesting for me..especially after I have changed to a new working environment. Life has been hectic recently, but it's good that I get the chance to explore more into different types of events. From being the person in-charge at the AV console at the Siemens Asia Pacific Conference to being a back-stage manager at a nationwide singing competition..I am glad that I have been involved with different events in the last quarter of the year.

Being an ordinary person, and yet able to host a high level event like Tatler Ball is definitely a bless.

Even though did not sleep for 2 days, but it's definitely a worth. After putting in all the hard work, and get appraisal from client after that, it 's such a satisfaction and there is something which makes me to continue in this industry. And Tatler Malaysia even gives us a full page advertisement in the coming edition to appreciate our efforts..woohoooo

October/ November looks like a lucky month for me. Got a call from a friend to help out at the finale of a nationwide singing competition. Though the publicity is not that strong, but the judge panel is STRONG, including the She is just so elegant standing in front of me, her skin texture is just perfect I shall say :) and the special guest is 倪安东, he is friendly , but just dont understand why all these so called public figures must have stupid requirements for this and that..only can take 3 photos..but of course I dont give a shit lar..hahaha..who you think you are..and there are 3 assistants looking after him..haihzzz..too pampered..it could be the way how music agency does thing. But I really salute those finalists, come all the way from every part of Malaysia just to attend numerous training sessions before the finale..and also the finale at Genting Arena of Star. With their efforts, I believe some of them will eventually become album artists..even the judge was so impressed and promised to promote them to Taiwan. The finale seemed to be a turning point for them in life, according to them, it was the very first time for them to perform in such a big concert hall in front of thousands of audience. And the inspiring part of this competition was the champion was actually the last to make into the final and with his efforts and desire, he made it to the top!

Before 2011 comes to an end, there is one more major project coming up in Dec.....stay tuned :)

Wine Tasting

- NC, please help me upload some pictures of that night - :)

We went for wine tasting that night at Taman Desa, turns out pretty interesting! Let me share our experience with you guys..

The most important thing to have while tasting wine, is good company. I don't think I need to explain why..

Do you know that wines have to be served in certain temperatures? Room temperature that is. Not Malaysia room temperature of course. The room temperature as where the old world is, Europe, where wines were first produced, at 7 - 18°C. The basic temperature principals, the coller the wine is, the less it will smell and vice versa. The lower temperature will also emphasize acidity and tannins. Tannins makes your toungue "kelat"; like when u eat an unripe mango near the skin. There are 3 simple steps to taste wine Simplistically,

Optimal Wine Serving Temperatures :

White Wines: 7-10 °C

Red Wines: 10-18 °C

Rosé Wines: 7-13 °C

Sparkling Wines: 6-11 °C

Fortified Wines: 13-20 °C

YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW COLD IT WAS THAT NIGHT!

There are 3 simple steps to taste wine; Sight,Smell and Taste.

Sight
Tilt the glass about 45°, holding the stem of the glass. Put it against a white background, usually your napkin. Look at the depth of color, the base, and the hue, the light ring on the top.

White wines gets deeper in color while aging. But the dessert wines are darker in color even when they're young. Red wines on the contrary, are dark in color when young and loses color when they age.

Swirl the glass a little, you will see that there's tears trickling down the glass. This, also known as Legs, indicates the level of sugar and alcohol in the wine. The higher the content, the slower the tears drop.

Smell
Put your nose into the glass. Nosing is the most important step of all as you will be able to smell he grape variety, age, whether it's fruity or earthy and the depth and intensity of the wine. Swirl it some more for more aroma to come out from the glass. We tasted a white wine that night. Smell so nice of passion fruit. It smelled so familiar to me initially, but I wasn't able to tell what it was. And passion fruit was my favourite!

Taste

When tasting, take a small sip and gargle (not vigorously!) for the wine to cover your whole tongue so that you're able to taste it fully. Mix in some air, oh well quite hard to describe, ask us to show you! A long taste meaning that the taste stays in your mouth longer and vice versa, a shorter taste for those that taste don't remain. A dry wine is wine with much tannin contents and the opposite is a sweet wine. Sometimes wine can combine many other tastes, smooth/ buttery when eggs are used to clear the wine. Sometimes other fruits are mixed together to get the fragrance as well. A Full bodied wine has a very rich taste while a toned down taste will be described as light bodied.

There was 3 glasses of white wines to taste, from light to dark, young to aged. The lighter one was a dessert wine, has more legs 'cause it was sweeter and smelled very nice. The second has a fainter smell and the last least. The dessert wine earns its name, I like it from the first sip! The older wines tasted with more tannins and my preference is against dryer wines.

Comparatively, when given the reds to taste, I didn't like any! From this class, I've learnt how to appreciate white wine more than red wine, when traditionally we have always drank reds on any occasions.

Come, come, let's gather one day to appreciate wines! We can cook and drink..so that we don't get drunk like the previous time at NC's hse!

from my personal opinion, Ho Chak is sucks!

well dunno u guys know this show from 8TV
the show is hosted by a girl & a guy ( i cant remember the names but they always there)
everytime i watch it, it s just disappoint me like hell
maybe i watched too much of Jamie, Gordon, Taiwanese & China cooking/food shows
it somehow standardize my taste
until this Ho Chak coming in
these 2 hosts, like never do preparation for their show
the cook intro today dish is pepper crabs
& the guy host asked again, "is it cook with salt?" wth......can he listen properly of what the cook just said? it happens all the time!
& at the last part of the show, they will teach us how to cook
it is so obvious that they are 'trained'
they skills are trained, not natural at all, have you all seen how Gordon grab the ingredients & throw it to cooking pan? that is called, I cook the food! not the food cook me!
& after that when they are done
they will eat it 1st, jz like a kid stealing the food from the kitchen.
their description on the food & taste are rubbish!
ya, you can explain that to a 5 yr old kids, jz sour sweet bitter or spicy
pls la, the show "survive" so long edi, ur speech should be grown up also
the words you use to describe are too naive.......
pls....improve it!

Jakarta in a very brief explanation

Gosh....
It's been more than one month and I am not able to finish the earlier blog about Jakarta..
Let's finish this now...in short summarize version.

Jakarta entry point
* Reach Sukarno-Hatta Airport at 8.3 0a.m. and leave at 2.30p.m....just 2 days after that 4th June.
* For your information the airport is name after Indonesia first President and Vice President.
* Arrival hall is very quiet, most probably is still early in the morning.
* Departure hall is 'flooded' with homosapiens! ......and nothing much to discover at the airport.

Accomodation
* Woah! The hotel is amazing.....is some kind of European high end service apartment with an antique telephone.....big and huge hard cover books we see in Harry Potter's movie (too bad is written in Dutch language)....leather couch....and the classical wooden floor!
* The best part is we occupied the swimming pool, gym. and lounge......no body else using it beside us. Fantastic! Feel like you owning all of them....
* Washing facility is FOC....without further thinking, wash all our clothes before bring it back to
M'sia.

Transportation
* Walking is always the best way but is very limited due to the HOT weather.
* Using public transport in Jakarta is a bit of troublesome due to the huge population...9.1 millions peoples in Jakarta alone. IS MORE THAN WHOLE S'pore!
* Cab is everywhere and the vehicle that look alike like tut-tut from Thailand is at every corner of the street.
* Traffic jam is very common.....luckily we are there during weekend.

Food
* Food is everywhere...From street food to restaurant and to buffet style meal. No problem.
* Can someone tell me what ingredient they use for 'Sup Saudara'? or in English we translate it as Brother Soup.......some kind of Sulawesi's cuisine.

Place of Interest
* Many museums and the charges is cheap...RM3.50 or some free of charge.
* The Tower is amazing but the crowd is more amazing...too many people so just take a look from the Square and went off........and do the most crazy things there! Trespassing!!!!!
* There is not much Dutch influence left in Jakarta beside some of the infrastructure at Kota Lama.

That's all!

A lot has happened !

2011 is absolutely a great year in terms of the experiences and the stages that I have been through in the first half of the year.

It all started from resigning my previous job. Then followed by a very hard time being unemployed. It was indeed a very tough time for me to get through. However, kept telling myself everything will be fine, miracle will happen and things like that. Attended few interviews just before Chinese New Year, at least , was kind of relieved.

Leaving all the worries behind in Malaysia, lets BALIK KAMPUNG which I have been looking forward for N years. Finally, I know where my root is..and it has got a very funny name in Chinese which is called 江门( it sounds funny in cantonese = Anus ). First time meeting with all my cousin brothers, cousin sisters, nephews and nieces. One of the most memorable Chinese New Year for me. Also got to meet up some relatives in Hong Kong, only focused on their daughters..lol.not bad looking, was too shy to ask for facebook.hahaha.kind of regret.

After the BALIK KAMPUNG trip, everything seemed to be going smoothly, guessed my ancestor helped me alot..hahaha..being too superstitious. Got a confirmed job right after Chinese New Year. Just right before my new job commenced, took a few days off to Thailand alone. Indulged myself in my own world, switched off my phone, only on it to update my mum. Thoughts kept flooding your mind when you are indulged in your own world. However, still had to come back to KL to face the reality.

Commenced my new job, everything seemed to be very fine and kind of enjoy my new working environment. Funny colleagues are around, office is always full of laughters, rude words..and FOOD!!! Just to surprise me, my immediate superior resigned during my 3rd month, and there put me in front of the diverged road again !!! Stay or follow or something else ??? But was glad to be involved in some of the projects with global companies like American Express, Chevron (Caltex)..to local client like Maybank and Tatler Homes..these are the things that I treasured a lot...

That's what explains the title of the post..stay tuned for more....that concludes the first half of 2011..looking forward to a more happening second half of 2011.

Another Achievement

Yea, this is one of the activities I took part recently. It was my first time taking part in this kind of activity, as I do not really like running as compared to those ball games. But, to constantly challenge myself after the Gunung Ledang expedition, decided to take part with other 2 friends. Our main aim is to finish the race and I managed to clock it at 32 mins. I consider it as a good achievement without having much practice before the race.

Finisher's Cert & Medal
Looking forward to more races in the future :)

54 Hours in Jakarta – 4 Hours before that (On the road)

I never been to Indonesia and this will the first time I step my foot on Indonesia’s soil. Thanks to NC! Yup, many will feel very weird; many people will ask the same old question. “Are you sure my friend? Bali also consider as Indonesia, you know? Yes, I know that! Bali is even further than Jakarta!

Wake up at 3.30am early morning and rush to airport to catch an early flight at 07:00 am is such a fantastic experience! Driving along the Highway at 4am early morning is definitely not a good choice. This is the best time for you to meet 4 types of people:

1st - drunken fellow speeding like his own road after paying 4 Ringgit (Average charges) for toll charges

2nd - drunken fellow driving like a snake ….zigzagging in between the car or in between the “air”

3rd - a car that full of young people and they will roll down their window and you will be wondering who are they? What they wanna do? What happen if they wanna do something to us?

4th - and of course our king of the road aka Mat Rempit.

Yes, we were lucky; we meet the 3rd type and 4th type of this group of people. Yes, there’s a car full of young people…………window is open for back seat. Of course before that 3 questions arise;

1st: Who are they?

Follow so close (what they want oh? Go and use fast lane la), less than 1 meter away from your car (don’t know 2 second rule ke~) and a car full of 5 peoples (so many people).

2nd: What they wanna do?

Follow so close (wanna ramp our car from behind and force us top and rob us just like we always read from newspaper?) or they just wanna follow us closely and main-main! (No comment)

3rd: What happen if they wanna do something to us?

This is the worst scenario if this really happen. (Just speeds off lo, what to do?)

Alright, we were wrong. They just speed off after we move to slow lane. So the conclusion is they just don’t apply the 2 seconds rule. That’s all. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

After few minutes, we meet the 4th type of the group of people, king of the road, Mat rempit at the opposite side of the road. Yup then 4S coming in! They Speed……..they Sleep …….. with Superman style and we are Speechless….. Alright, you all just don’t fly to opposite of the road then is fine for us. After all the “magnificent” stunt by our ‘young hero’ on the road, we have a smooth journey to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, Sepamg at 05:00am.

Cats

why is so good about cats?
since so many of them dislike cats....esp Mr Tham & Wan
well, 1st thing will be
Cats are clean
they know how to bury their shits
they know how to clean their hairs
even they walk around inside ur house
ur house wont get smell & dirty

Cats are beautiful
they have big attractive eyes
& small little cute mouth
they are very elegant

Cats are adorable
when a cat really likes u, they will lick u
when they hungry, they will 'meow' at u
sometimes they swim btwn ur legs
they just wanna get some attention

so, love animals, love cats :P

SMS

SMS, Short Message Service sounds very familiar to all of us, but does everyone know how to utilise it ?
Some people use it for the wrong purpose, like breaking up with someone through SMS. Some have no guts to face the reality, but fully "utilise" SMS to hurt others.
For me, SMS is actually a very powerful tool, it could be something very encourgaing, entertaining ............
Recently, I have received some very encouraging and funny SMS from 2 of my very close friends. Let me share with you.

On Wednesday morning, I received a sms as follows :
Friend A : Out of a sudden, I feel like telling you this after meeting up last week . You look happier much more than the one I met you in Old Town Kuchai Lama ( previous meeting ).I am happy for you! And I hope this career brings you joy and success! Best of luck for you! :)
What would you feel if you receive the above sms in the early morning ? It certainly brightens up my day man..cant believe it :) That's why I said SMS is indeed a very powerful tool.

Much earlier, I had another sms from my best friend in Aus who are sitting for his medical final exam soon.
Friend B: Bro, do you want to make a card for my exam soon?
Me: Huh? What card?
Friend B: Good luck card la
Me: Ok, give me your add. I dunno if it will sempat to arrive before you final exam or not.
No more replies from then. I made an e-card after that and send to him after receiving the sms.
In the next morning,
Friend B: Bro, thanks for your card, I was actually under the influence of alcohol last night, thus the weird msg. Appreciate that.
From the above, SMS helps to express your feelings without any borders. That's the greatest part of it.

Peeps, utilise SMS to the fullest, it could brighten you up as well as make you down . It's your choice :)

Day Before 24th March

Is 6.50pm now for GMT (+8) and is very calm situation in the office, I can only listen the noise of my mini USB fan, old "transformer" printer printing sound and of course the laughter sound of peoples result from the gossip meeting from the south east direction of the office. I cant listen to what they talk but some of the laughter sound like the joker in "Batman: The Dark Knight" movie, some laugh like the late Lydia Sum, some laugh until got high note and follow by low note.......What a laughing meeting.

And I continue waiting for call that never materialize, sending a SMS that fail to connect the network and calling the correct person that never answer the call. Ops, the more you hope, the more fed up you feel. The more you fed up, the faster you give up. Alright...

Tomorrow will be another day and weekend will always there after the 5th working day. Looking forward and Dinner is waiting.

Dream High

Dream high! A Korean series which am recently obsessed with :) Dramas or movies that feature real life story have always drawn my attention. It's no exception for the above tooooo. It features 6 youngsters who come from different family background and eventually become best pals because of one and the only reason - DREAM.

Dreaming high to become a top entertainers, these 6 youngsters enter a music school. For me, this drama conveys a very strong message to us in many aspects in life. Let it be family, friendship, career, love, studies....and of course our DREAM.

Lets start talking about the family, having open-minded parents is truly a bless.Their words may have a great impact on us. From the drama, I can see that the parents are very encouraging to their children in chasing their own dreams.Communicating with children is also very important to know what they want in life and support them moralely.

Friendship? I am so glad that this blog is being created. Talking about how does this blog being created, it all started with the chatting session via emails during working hours :) I hope none of your employers read this blog..hehe..there is a very touching story line in this drama, it's about a friend who tries his very very best to protect another friend though he knows the outcome will be very bad, and he would be in deep shit..and there goes his career. Yes, most of us are trying to be helpful to others, but we must ensure that we are in the safe position to do that.....otherwise..it could be difficult. I dont even know if I could do that if I were in that kind of situation. This blog has recorded the moments of laughters among ourselves..trips..jokes..pantun..memorable pictures...etc. Though we dont see each other that often, but I hope this blog could play a big part in connecting us. Friends!!! please do write something here..this blog belongs to YOU!

Love? I am not an expert in this aspect. It could be complicated whereby you dont know who to choose..dont know if you have fallen in love with someone..you dont wish to spoil the friendship because of love...you will see all these things in the drame as well as in real life. And I bet most of us have been in that position previously or even at this moment.

It's worth watching. You can imagine what could happen if you were in their shoes..what would be the outcome if you have done something..what could be your future if you have chosen certain career paths. It could be emotional if you were to imagine yourself as one of the characters in that drama, whereby you may have been in the same position/situation as what's being portrayed in the drama.

DREAM HIGH
Far away and fading

I am looking at my dream
I was standing empty
I dont have anything left anymore
I wanted to give it all up
but I get up once again
step by step
I move forward carefully, like today
my heart is filled with the fear and anticipation that I am holding in
stumbling and shaking
I take another step
towards the dream that I will meet someday

Do or Die

YES!!! Travelling alone is indeed exciting yet dangerous especially for girls. Many of us may think those who travel alone are weird, anti-social...etc. But I bet it's the best way to discover your inner self as mentioned in the previous post.
Do or die? sounds familiar? heard it from big shots? " you either do it or die regrettably". It's a classic phrase which we will usually hear on the talk show with entrepreneurs. What makes them to be so courageous to venture into a new business ?

We always live under the expectation of others. Come On Guys! We are the master our destiny. We have got to make decision on our next move, not third party. Most of the time, we tend to be influenced by others. No offence, YES! we must respect the elders in a way, but not to follow their advices blindly.I am one of the luckiest kid in the world which my parents give me a total freedom to pursue my future on my own. Since young, from choosing which secondary school to enter to what course I did in college ....to the career path I would like to pursue, was given a total freedom! I live my own life not yours!

We spend 1/3 of our lifetime sleeping, only left the other 2/3 of lfetime to do whatever it is. Read a real life story, it features an old man who works as trishaw driver and yet he donates his earning to a school which accepts poor students from remote areas in China. Thus, he has been nominated as the Most Touching People in China! I was touched in a way that, though he is not earning big bucks, but in his life, he utilises his limited resources to leave an unlimited impact on the students. Students see him as hero. This simple move may sound easy to us, but how many of us could do that? He is living his dream in a simple way and yet leaves the greatest impact on the society.

Do or die ! lets do something which you have been yearning to do but afraid to do! Do it before it's too late or else you will die REGRETTABLY!!!

Yes or No

speaking about our status
what is the difference being employed and employer?
if you are employee, you work for your boss
if you are employer, you work for everyone, specifically, stakeholders
can be anybody that relates to your company
at this stage, most of us are employed
most of the great boss
who grew up in poor environment and education background
we should be smarter and easier to start a business compare to them
but what has stopped us?
motivation, vision, idea.....
what should we do
where should we start
are we able to take risk
all unanswerable questions that stop us from the start
money, are never enough
life and desires, are never enough
sometimes we have to stop and think
what do you really want
what you want to achieve
will i just end up like this. this kind of life?
i envy ah seng has the courage and will, to travel alone & he achieved it
when i 1st asking my mum whether i can travel alone for 2-3 months after completed cpa
her 1st answer is "N"
well, i believe this is not an issue if you really want something exciting & adventurous
that kind of satisfaction, is like an honor of your life
but it is risky, if you meet bad expectation from it

life is neither easy or light
you just need supports and courage to share your love with people around you

LETS TRAVEL ALONE

The title itself says all !!! Lets travel alone. I believe in law of attraction. All this while, have been imagining myself carrying a backpack, walking in a strange land. I mean, when you keep thinking something constantly and repeatedly, whether you believe it or not, that "something" will eventually appear in front of you very very very soon. Your focus point must be very strong, otherwise, you will be easily get distracted from something else.

Today, as I was driving along Jalan Duta, I saw a farang ( westerner called by Thai ) standing at the roadside with a huge backpack, asking for a free ride. I was thinking...the picture of me doing that in the future is appearing in front of me..great!

Back to focus on the road, and kept thinking and wondering when shall I embark on my next journey alone again. I am sure time will tell..but when??? I doubt I could make this in the few years to come. However, give myself a target that I would do that again before 30!!! Friends!! do encourage me to do this again and again and again :) Gonna embark a journey with no FLIGHT!and travel the less traveled like central Asia which sounds strange to us. Countris like Kazakhtan, Uzbekistan look so tempting to me.

For me, travelling alone is the best time to discover your inner self. It's like, standing at the cross junction, looking left and right, and you are just uncertain of your next destination. And there is the best time to make a smart move which could save you as much money as possible. One of the biggest task for travelling alone is money management. If you dont manage your budget well, it spoils the entire journey. Deep in my heart, I really respect those who travel without much budget. It's life, you have got to mange and control everything to make yourself situated in the best condition. I once met 2 travellers back in Siem Reap, they asked for free ride as they have been walking since 4am in the morning, with no hesitation, I welcomed them to my tuk tuk. And had a chat with them, one from Spain, and the other from Australia. To my amaze, they rather suffer walking the whole morning, just to enjoy every bits of life, following the slow pace of Siem Reap. Exploring the world with foot is a fantastic experience!

As the chinese syaing goes, This explains the more we explore the world, the wiser we are. I once heard a real life story, a mom wana bring her kids for a long vacation during school days. However, the kids are not allowed to take so many days of leave. and here the parents explain to the school authority " Hey, I am just bringing my kids to explore something new and different from what he could get from the book. How could you limit the kids to the knowledge of the book". It may not be the best way to go for vacation during the school days, however, it has its points. I may do that too if I were able to.

Hey friends, you may have many things to achieve in life, be it a big house, a big car...or whatever it is. Sit down and think about it. Start exploring your inner self before it's too late. Most us are working now, we may slowly slowly slowly forget what we initially want in life, what was our little dream back in childhood..due to our heavy daily worklaod.
Lets travel alone!!!!!!!!!!

Travelling Alone Part 2...

After the quick dinner ( coz of the STUPID cat ), went to a sundry shop to get some snacks, mineral waters and of course Chang & Singha Beer. Went back to wooden bungalow. It was really dark, with the sea breeze, sitting at the balcony with the dim light, reading EAT PRAY LOVE..or I shall name it as EAT PLAY LOVE instead :) and a can of beer, what a lonely but relaxing NIGHT! I wish I could be the lady in the book, going somewhere alone to search for the meaning of life. And I had a good start with this trip...more to come. This is something I heard from one of the artists that I respect and admire - 侯佩岑。That's why we must always live life to the FULLEST! It was really a hard time during the unemployment period ( being fooled ), however, this is the time where I get to recall the advices and all the encouragement form my beloved friends and family. My friend once said " time will make a difference. remember that everything happens for a reason and you may find solace when you look beyond the current odds ". I slowly slowly slowly understand...............
With all the stress & worries being left aside, went to bed around 9pm.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Reading at the balcony

After 8 hours, woke up automatically, it was only 5 something in the morning. It was still dark, very quiet, only sometimes heard the stray dogs barking. Switched on the balcony light, stoning at the balcony, with the sea breeze, trees are swaying..what a wonderful morning!! It was 7am now, walked to the beach to watch sunrise. Noboday was at the beach, guessed everyone was still sleeping soundly. Sitting at the swing, watching the sun slowly slowly slowly rising and smile to the world. A great day has started! Met a lovely old couple, and greeted them. However, the stray dogs "forced" me to leave the lovely beach.

Swing

Sunrise

I walked around the inland to look for food to feed my stomach. I found the street is full of restaurants with typical "island" feel. I ordered a baguette with bacon & cheese and a cup of iced coffee. Enjoying my breakfast while looking the islanders walking here and there. Some school kids went to school. Sundry shop owners opened their shop to run the business for the day.Everyone smiles to you which brightens up the day :)

Pooh Restaurant

My Breakkie

Still unsure whether I want to go back to Hatyai today or stay here for one more night. Looking at my thai Bahts, it seems that I am not permitted to stay here for one more night. Told the resort owner that I would take the 9am boat and he arranged a long tail boat to send me to the platform. Went back to the wooden bungalow and packed everything and here concluded my 15 hours of island journey:) was a bit too short, but everything was worth it. Felt so relieved and refreshed. Next stop would be Koh Tarutao!!! anyone interested?? We can sleep in the tent on the beach there. It has a lovely beach.

Packed & Ciaoz

Bye Bye Koh Lipe

Boarded the speed boat and left KOH LIPE!!! was sitting at the back of the speedboat, my back was all wet due to the splashes and all..so syiok! Arrived Hat Yai after 4 hours ( 2hours speedboat + 2hours van ).Still have not decided if I should stay here for one more night. I walked around the town in the afternoon, was thinking, do I have to waste money on this dead town?? Quickly grab a bus ticket which departs at night. To my surprise, you can bargain the price for the bus ticket also. Was afraid kena con buying the cheap ticket. I still had another 5 hours to go. Had my lunch at chester's grill, guess is one of the fast food chain in Thai. Lepaking around...was wondering why do people say Hatyai is a shopping heaven???????? Why Why Why????

The time has come, boarded the bus and say hello to Kuala Lumpur.

Travelling Alone..

Rotting at home for quite sometime, thoughts after thoughts start appearing on my mind...and here it goes..LETS TRAVEL ALONE which I have been looking for.

This is a very random decision. I decided to go north by train but still unsure my final destination.Everything is uncertain. For me, travelling is just like LIFE, you do not know what lies ahead, whom you meet during the journey..the feeling of anticipation is GOOD!
Bought the train ticket at KL Sentral ( RM48 ).The train left at 9.15pm.Met a japanese guy in the train, he wanted to double confirm if the train goes to Hatyai. It was freezing cold at night as I was only wearing shorts, and the light was not switched off, couldnt sleep all night along.Passed by some scenic views along the way including Mr Lam's hometown...etc

Kedah Paddy Field
Arrived at Padang Besar (Malaysia-Thai border) to get through immigration and had a pack of nasi lemak while waiting for the train to Hatyai.
Padang Besar Railway Station

After another 1 hour ++, I arrived at Hatyai Station. All the travel agents approached me asking where I wana go,accomodation and stuffss..I refused to follow them. In the end, I had no choice but to ask them how to get to Koh Lipe (destination which I just decided). Was brought to a travel agent office nearby and started negotiating the fares and all. Bought a combo package of return van and speed boat.

The van was full of foreigners. I was the only Asian I guess. The language they spoke sounded strange to me, maybe from northern Europe. The journey took another 2 hour to the Pak Bara Pier, and then I had to take speed boat to Koh Lipe which took another 1hr45mins.
Pak Bara Pier
The speed boat first stopped at Koh Tarutao National Park which is something like our Marine park in Pulau Redang @ Pulau Perhentian. Koh Lipe has 3 main beaches, Pattaya Beach, a happening one,and I chose to go to Sunrise Beach which is a quieter beach. Had to pay 50Baht for the sea gypsy to bring you to the beach using their long tail boats. Met a lovely family from Spain on the boat. They offered me help to find accomodation as their friends are staying on the island itself. Being adventurous me, I decided to do it myself!!! Gonna sleep on the beach if everywhere is fully boooked as it was the PEAK season! After asking several resorts, it was either fully booked or way too expensive for my budget..Oh my gosh!!! I was self-talking to myself..no..I cannot give up, continue looking for one which suits my budget. After walking here and there like an idiot carrying a big backpack for almost 30 mins, I finally settled down at Tarutao Cabana for 600Baht per night at a wooden bungalow.

Long Tail Boats
Wooden Bungalow

After travelling for almost 20 hours, it's time to get some rest with a good shower. The room is equipped with simple amenities including a double bed, mosquito net, fan and attached bathroom. This would not be an ideal room for the holiday makers, but for me, as a budget traveller, it's absolutely worth the price. Spider wibes is everywhere, and there was a huge centipede in the bathroom.Only being afraid of stray cats and dogs, all these little insects are unable to scare me away :)

Centipede
The sky was getting dark, and my stomach started complaining as it has not been fed anything after the small pack of nasi lemak in the morning. Went around to look for a restaurant. I ordered a plate of Pad Thai and a glass of watermelon juice. Felt so good with the setting, with all the wooden chairs and tables. And I found the menu was so interesting especially the last page as it explains " why our mouth is the source of problems " @ 病从口入,祸从口出. I always have the fear of dining alone at the street hawker. My "dream" came true, a cat and its baby kitten came near me, staring at me to beg for food. As usual, I stopped eating and stared at the cat as well...shu shu shu shu shu shu shu..the cat was still there...shu shu shu shu again, finally it went away.Quickly finished the Pad Thai and left this hell place!!!

Why is our mouth the source of problems??

anyone could compose music to this lyrics ? just for fun..hahaha, not completed yet.

2011

It's 2011 !!!!

It's been quite sometime since someone last updated this blog.

2011 started with a great 2D1N trip to Fraser's hill. It is always great having to go for holiday with a bunch of crazy friends.

Picnic ??? a word that sounds strange to the kids nowadays..trying to recall our childhood memory, few stops have been made to have our picnic session. ( Selangor Dam & Chilling Waterfall ). We had an interesting encounter with the guard at Selangor Dam,

Guard: Eh!!!! tak nampak papan tanda tu?? tak boleh makan ...
CS: Ooo..minta maaf boss..tapi picnic kat rumput boleh??? (jokingly)
Guard: Saya tak tau you dari sekolah mana...( walking away.....)
CS: ...............

the guard must have some unhappy "experience " with his wife on the previous night..hehe

after the speechless encounter with the IDIOT..we decided to pack to go to our next stop ( chilling waterfall ), only spent about half an hour there, taken some pictures..and left for our final destination.

After some winding roads, we finally reached Fraser's Hill. Someone had car sickness and felt like throwing out, too bad for them, sitting in SC's car, being @#$%^&* all the way to Fraser's Hill. Checked into our 3-bedrooms apartment with only 1-bedroom rate. So lucky of us.

We then headed to Smokehouse to enjoy an hour of expat's lifesyle. Had few scones and cuppas of coffees, chilling in the english old colonial buiding, whatever stress and worries have been put aside. After that, we came to Allan Water which used to be a dam. 3 pairs of childish teenagers had their water cycling competition here. And it had been won by long-legged CY and Joanne.( no prize was given away )

It started to pour and we headed back to apartment to get ready for Gordan Ramsay's Hell Kitchen live show. Some kaki judi started playing "nammi" while Gordon's assistants were busy preparing dinner at the hell kitchen. After settling everything, lets have our family photo taking session with our beloved Gingerbread man.............

All kinds of stupid pose....the motherly Theng Theng was practising how to feed her kids in the near future with VODKA. This mom must be crazy!!!!!

Steamboat dinner started with all kinds of BALLS ( requested by Nen aka carnivour ). Eating steamboat under such a chilling weather was so enjoyable. The long awaited highlight of the night...DRINKING GAME began right after everyone was full with the BALLS......bla bla bla.....someone was blushing...someone wanted the King so badly...someone had to kiss someone...someone had to carry someone...someone had to down few glasses of VODKA...someone had to dance sexily...someone had to............

Before everyone went to bed..lets have a night walk. Good night everyone :)

During the night, someone rushed into the washroom..someone came out and discovered that ..isshhhh..no ELECTRICITY!!! It was so dark. Everyone woke up around 9am, planning to go a morning walk. Before we left, lets have another family photo taking session at the spacious balcony :) but this time our beloved Gingerbread man was not involved :(

Everything was packed, and off for breakfast. We did some morning walks along the "flowery" street have our breakfast. Camwhore session is a MUST everywhere we went.hehe

About 12pm, we left Fraser's Hill. It was another annual trip that had been made. Credits must be given to everyone who joined this trip. And thanks to Rachel and Catheryn who were able to bear with our craziness :)

More road trips to come in the near future. Of course there will be a major Siem Reap trip in August this year and also some couple trips like Thoe & Nen's Jakarta and SC & Nic's Melbourne trip.

Stay tuned for more..........
